How Many Hats apps and this website handle information.
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Many Hats (“we,” “us,” or “our”) builds mobile apps and this website. This policy describes our practices for the That’s in the Bible Android app (the “App”) and, where noted, our general website contact forms.
That’s in the Bible — Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
The App is designed to work without creating a user account. We do not ask you to sign in with email or social accounts inside the App.
- On-device data: Your saved favorites, settings (such as “Hide mature facts”), trivia preferences, and premium unlock status are stored locally on your device using the App’s built-in storage (SQLite and app preferences).
- Purchase data: If you buy Premium, payment is processed by Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. Google may provide purchase confirmation needed to unlock Premium features on your device.
- Advertising: The current public release does not display third-party ads. If we enable ads on the free tier in a future update, the App may use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and usage data according to Google’s privacy policy. We will update this page before turning ads on.
- External links: Tapping “Context” (or similar) opens BibleGateway in your web browser. That site has its own privacy policy; we do not control it.
2. How we use information
On-device data is used only to:
- Show facts and trivia content
- Remember your favorites and settings
- Determine whether Premium features are unlocked
- Show ads on the free tier (only when that feature is enabled in a future version)
We do not use the App to build a marketing profile or to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
3. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by:
- Google Play (purchases and app distribution)
- Google AdMob (advertising, only when enabled in the App)
- BibleGateway (when you choose to open a scripture link)
4. Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device remains until you change settings, clear app data for That’s in the Bible in Android settings, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes locally stored favorites and preferences from your device.
5. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is suitable for family use with optional mature-content controls in Settings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App itself. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at the email below.
6. Your choices
- Hide mature facts: Available in App Settings
- Premium: Unlocks additional content and features; removes ads when advertising is enabled
- Restore purchases: Available in Settings after a purchase, using the same Google Play account
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
